Virgil Smith Trial Archive

(WJBK) - Charges were filed against Senator Virgil Smith following a domestic dispute with his ex-wife. 

Wayne Co. Prosecutor Kym Worthy says Smith's ex-wife came to his Detroit home around 1 a.m. Sunday, and discovered another woman there. Prosecutors allege Smith physically assaulted his ex-wife fired a rifle at her vehicle multiple times. Smith was charged with malicious destruction of property, $20,000 or more; assault with a dangerous weapon; weapons felony firearm; and domestic violence.
