Malcolm Bernard Benson was charged in the robbery and fatal shooting of Stanley Paul Carter, 59, who was waiting for a bus in the 11800 block of Woodward near Tennyson around 5:16 a.m. Sept. 16. Carter was shot in the chest and taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
