James Boyd was shot and killed on March 16, 2014.  APD officers approached Boyd, who was sleeping, to speak to him about illegally camping in an open space. Authorities said Boyd began arguing with officers for more than three hours before the fatal shooting. Keith Sandy and Dominique Perez are charged with second-degree murder.
